In 1993, Sheri Kaiser became USI’s first Academic All-American after earning GLVC Player of the Year honors for volleyball for the second consecutive season. To this day, Kaiser is the only volleyball player in school history to earn GLVC Player of the Year honors twice. Kaiser finished her volleyball career as the all-time leader in kills, solo blocks, and block assists. She still holds the career record for solo blocks as well as the single-match record for kills (33) and block assists (12). She also holds the single-season school record for kills (577). An All-Great Lakes Region selection in 1993, Kaiser earned All-GLVC honors in 1992 and 1993 and was a three-timeAcademic All-GLVC honoree. Kaiser also was a member of the USI women’s basketball team from 1990-93.
