Screagle Outdoor Refreshment Areas (SORA)

Screagle Outdoor Refreshment Areas (SORA) are designated areas on the University of Southern Indiana campus where approved tailgating activities may take place. USI tailgating policies and guidelines apply exclusively within designated SORA areas.

These spaces are intended to provide a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for students, alumni, families, and fans to gather and participate in gameday activities. All individuals using a SORA area are expected to follow the University’s established tailgating policies and any additional event-specific guidelines.


General Tailgating Rules

• Tailgating is permitted at USI home games unless otherwise specified. Tailgating can only take place in the designated SORA areas for the event. 
• Must be 21+ years of age to consume and/or possess alcohol. 21+ attendees may bring their own alcohol ONLY in the designated Tailgating area. 
• Tailgating is permitted one hour prior to game time and must end immediately following the conclusion of the event. 
• A $10 fee is required for any vehicle entering the SORA area.
• Tailgating may be prohibited during any OVC post season tournament.
• State laws apply at all tailgating events. 
• Tailgaters are required to clean their areas at the conclusion of tailgating events. 
• Single-service containers only. Kegs are prohibited. 
• Propane grills only; charcoal and wood grills are prohibited. A fire extinguisher must be present with all grills. 
• Maximum tent size: 10 ft x 10 ft, and ONLY permitted in the tailgating area. All tents must be secured using weights; stakes may not be used on campus
• Vehicles must be turned off and cannot idle in the tailgate area.
• Tailgating participants may not disrupt University functions or University-sponsored events or activities.
• University of Southern Indiana and any other associated group(s) are not responsible for any lost, stolen, and/or damaged property and/or belongings of any participating tailgaters.

• Glass bottles or containers
• Bulk alcohol containers
• Fire pits
• Weapons
