Chancellor Dugan was responsible for turning the USI women’s basketball program into a national power in the 1990s. In just her fourth season, Dugan took a team that had won just one GLVC game, in the two seasons prior to her arrival, to its first-ever NCAA II Tournament appearance in 1995. Two years later, Dugan had her squad in the 1997 NCAA II National Championship game, a contest that was aired live on ESPN. The GLVC Coach of the Year in 1997 and 1998, Dugan directed the Eagles to a 159-73 record, the GLVC’s first perfect season (20-0 in 1998), and the NUMBER ONE ranking for most of the 1997-98 season. During her tenure, she also was the assistant director of athletics and was instrumental in the start of the nationally recognized Eagle Math program.
