Dave Schenk '78 played prior to USI joining the GLVC in the mid-1970s. He batted a school-record .421 in two seasons and is one of two USI baseball players to have two .400 seasons. Schenk’s .427 batting average still ranks sixth all-time for a single season at USI. He has gone on to play a major role in the development of baseball in the southwestern Indiana area, influencing many of the area’s best players.
