In 1997, Keil Kaiser ’97 became the first runner in USI history to win the 10,000 meters at the prestigious Drake Relays on the same night in which current USI and GLVC Hall of Fame member Elly Rono won the 10,000 meters at the Penn Relays. That same season, Kaiser captured All-America honors in the 10,000 meters. From 1992-97, Kaiser was one of USI’s leaders on the cross country course and the track. He earned All-GLVC honors in 1993 and 1994, All-Region honors in 1994 and 1995, and became the seventh runner in the program’s storied history to earn All-America honors on the cross country course in 1995.
