Jeff Schulz was USI’s first baseball player to advance to the major leagues. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals and played for the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations.

Schulz finished his career at USI as the all-time leader in slugging percentage (.734) and was second in home runs. He still owns the career slugging percentage and is in the top 10 for home runs (16). Schulz finished his career with a .411 batting average that ranks second all-time at USI.
