NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Sophomore
Addison Applegate churned out a sixth-place finish in the 3,000 meters Saturday to lead University of Southern Indiana Women's Track & Field at the Music City Challenge.
Applegate finished the race in nine minutes, 52.14 seconds, a time that ranks her ninth all-time at USI in the indoor 3,000 meters and second in the OVC this season. Applegate also ranks fifth in the OVC in the mile and eighth in the 800 meters.
Sophomore
Lauryn Speicher became the fourth women's runner in school history to crack the 60-second barrier in the 400 meters and the third on an indoor track as she crossed the finish line in 59.90 seconds. Speicher also ran the 600 meters in 1:40.48. Both times rank third all-time on USI's indoor 400 and 600-meter lists.
Freshman
Alyssa Beyer rounded out the Screaming Eagles' movements in the record books as she carded a time of 1:03.64 in the 400 meters to land herself in seventh place on USI's all-time indoor 400-meter list.
USI returns to action when it competes at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships February 24-25 at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
