LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—Junior
Ellie Hall raced to a pair of titles to lead University of Southern Indiana Women's Track & Field to a fifth-place finish at the OVC Outdoor Championships.
Hall began the week with a win in the 10,000 meters Thursday night before finishing the weekend with a runaway victory in the 5,000 meters Saturday. Her time of 36 minutes, 12.14 seconds in the 10,000 meters set a meet and facility record, while her time of 17:31.11 just missed a facility record in the 5,000 meters.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles started out strong with four runners successfully advancing out of the 1,500-meter prelims Thursday and three runners placing in the top five of the 10,000 meters.
In addition to Hall, USI got a third-place finish from junior
Zoe Seward in the 10,000 meters, while sophomore
Cordelia Hoover added a fifth-place finish.
Freshman
Lilyanna Blais highlighted the Screaming Eagles' day on Friday with a third-place showing in the 3,000-meters steeplechase.
The Screaming Eagles began the final day with a stellar performance in the finals of the 1,500 meters. Sophomores
Abrielle Richard,
Maggie Smith and
Addison Applegate respectively finished second, third and fourth, while freshman
Mackenzi Thomas was seventh to give USI 21 of its 63 points on the weekend.
USI ended the final day by gathering up 16 additional points in the 5,000 meters. After Hall, the Screaming Eagles got a fourth-place finish from Applegate to go with an eighth-place showing from Hoover.
The fifth-place finish was the Screaming Eagles' best placement at a conference outdoor meet since they finished fourth at the 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships. It was their best outdoor finish since joining the OVC and their best track & field finish since they placed fourth at the 2025 OVC Indoor Championships.
