EVANSVILLE, Ind.—For the second time this month and the fourth time during the academic calendar, University of Southern Indiana junior
Ellie Hall is earning an Ohio Valley Conference weekly honor.
The league office announced Wednesday afternoon that Hall was named the OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week following her performance in the 10,000 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational last week.
Hall finished the race in a personal-best time of 34 minutes, 40.11 seconds, ranking her first in the OVC and third all-time at USI in the event. Additionally, Hall ranks 17th in the NCAA I Great Lakes Region in the 10,000 meters and 72nd in the East Super Regional.
The award marks the second time during the outdoor season that Hall has garnered OVC Track Athlete of the Week accolades after she earned the same honor April 1 for her efforts in the 5,000 meters at the WashU Distance Carnival.
In addition to her rankings in the 10,000 meters, Hall is currently first in the OVC and 21st in the Great Lakes Region in the 5,000 meters.
Hall, a health service major at USI, was named the OVC Cross Country Athlete of the Year after being named OVC Runner of the Week twice during the regular season last fall.
USI returns to action Friday and Saturday when it competes at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky.
