EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis had four players named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll Wednesday afternoon for their dedication in the classroom.

The sophomore trio of
Mathys Bove,
Eytan Michaeli, and
Axel Sabourin, along with senior
Quinten Gillespie, have all completed at least three semesters as full-time students while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 as of June 2025.

Bove, a sport management major, completed his second season with the Screaming Eagles, highlighted by a victory against Eastern Illinois University, helping the team cinch its first conference postseason birth since transitioning to Division I.

Michaeli, an Undecided major, spent his sophomore season starting in the number three singles slot for USI, earning two singles victories. The sophomore was a deciding factor, with a three-set triumph, in the team's 4-3 win against Tennessee Tech University.

Saboruin, a business administration major, garnered a spot on the Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week in April following a nail-biting victory (6-2, 7-6 (11-9)) over Tennessee Tech, sealing the doubles point for the Eagles. Sabourin soared to a team-best 6-5 singles record, with all six singles victories coming in the number one spot.

Gillespie, a mathematics major, finished out his collegiate career with a team high of two singles conference wins over Eastern Illinois and Tennessee State University. The senior helped clinch the team's victory over Austin Peay State University, winning both his singles and doubles matches.
