Jy Hibbert wins Herb Foster Sportsmanship Award

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana sophomore Jy Hibbert was recognized as a recipient of the Herb Foster Sportsmanship Award by the Horizon League on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Herb Foster Sportsmanship Award is given in honor of former Wright State men's and women's tennis coach Herb Foster and recognizes student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Sportsmanship is defined as behavior exhibited during competition by student-athletes based on values, respect and integrity.
 
Hibbert adds his name to a list of now three Screaming Eagles to earn the award, including Lucas Sakamaki and Dylan Brown.
 
The sophomore finished the 2026 season with the most singles wins on the team with a 9-8 overall record and going 4-2 in Horizon League play. In his first season as an Eagle in 2025, Hibbert led the team in singles wins, going 6-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
