EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The No. 34 University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team breezed past visiting Brescia University, 8-1, Tuesday afternoon at the USI Tennis Courts.
USI (6-4) dominated doubles play to build a 3-0 lead heading into singles action. The Screaming Eagles posted straight-set wins at number 2-6 singles to finish off the match and hand the Bearcats (5-1) their first setback of the year.

Joseph Boesing and sophomores
Juan Quiroz,
Ben Boesing, and
Rodrigo Flores all posted a pair of wins to lead the Screaming Eagles.
Joseph Boesing teamed up with junior
Diego Gimenez for an 8-4 win at number one doubles before posting a straight-set win at number three singles.
Quiroz and
Ben Boesing paired for an 8-2 win at number two doubles before going on to straight-set wins at number two and four singles, respectively. Flores and sophomore
Kory Poland (Effingham, Illinois) combined for an 8-0 win at number three doubles, while Flores rounded out his day with a straight-set triumph at number five singles.
Junior
Nathan Lattimer rounded out the Eagles' victories with a 6-0, 6-1 win at number six singles.
USI returns to Great Lakes Valley Conference play when it hosts Saint Joseph's College Friday at 2 p.m. and Northern Kentucky University Saturday at 10 a.m. at the USI Tennis Courts. Both matches are part of a men's and women's doubleheader.
