HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis opened its 2026 fall slate at the Northern Kentucky University Fall Invitational, featuring competition against host Northern Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University, Xavier University, University of Dayton, and Thomas More University.
In Friday singles, USI performed well against host Northern Kentucky, going 5-1. Junior
Jy Hibbert (6-0, 6-3) and freshmen newcomers
Simon Johnson (6-3, 6-3) and
Eduardo Trovo Vieira da Silva (6-2, 6-0) won their matches in straight sets. While against Xavier, USI forced three matches to tie-breaking third sets.
In Friday doubles, USI recorded wins against Eastern Kentucky and Thomas More.
Jy Hibbert and
Aaron Dawson picked up a 6-3 win over EKU, while
Adam Koon and
Kalani Hibbert posted a 6-3 win over Thomas More.
On Saturday, USI came up just short in doubles against Dayton. Notably,
Jy Hibbert and Dawson were slightly edged by the Flyers, 7-6.
Other singles matches originally scheduled on Saturday against Eastern Kentucky were canceled due to rain.
