EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The No. 34 University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team suffered a pair of setbacks this weekend, falling to McKendree University, 5-4, Friday night in Belleville, Illinois, and to No. 35 Rockhurst University, 6-3, Sunday morning in Indianapolis.
USI (4-4) lost two-of-three in doubles play to begin its match with McKendree Friday night. The Bearcats posted wins at number one and two doubles; then posted wins at number one, three, and six singles to secure the victory.
The Screaming Eagles' blemishes at number three and six singles were both three-set losses. Sophomore
Juan Quiroz's loss at three singles came down to a 7-5 tie-breaker in the third set.

Rodrigo Flores posted a three-set win at number two singles and an 8-6 triumph at number three doubles to lead the Eagles against McKendree.
On Sunday, the Eagles found themselves trailing 3-0 heading into singles play after Rockhurst captured wins in all three doubles matches. USI battled back with wins at number one, three, and four singles, but the Hawks posted straight-set wins at number two and five singles as well as a three-set triumph at number six singles to wrap-up the non-conference victory.

Ben Boesing all posted wins for the Eagles in singles' play.
USI hosts Vincennes University in an exhibition match Tuesday at 3 p.m. to open its home schedule. The Eagles begin GLVC play Saturday at 10 a.m. when they host Bellarmine University in a men's and women's doubleheader at the USI Tennis Courts.
