Eagles fall to Western Kentucky

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team fell, 8-1, to a tough Western Kentucky University squad in its spring home opener Sunday at the USI Tennis Courts.
USI (1-8) lost all three doubles matches, including a closely-contested match at number one doubles that saw senior Reilly Ackerman (Mt. Carmel, Illinois) and sophomore Michelle Girgenti(Greenwood, Indiana) fall to Erin Fulkerson and Jacomiey Feilzer, 9-8.

Western Kentucky (8-2) claimed straight-set victories in all but one of the singles matches to clinch the victory. SophomoreÂ
Jennie LaBonte (Indianapolis, Indiana) earned the Screaming Eagles' lone victory as she bested Margot VanBussel 6-1, 1-6, 12-10.
The Eagles return to action Thursday when they host Drury University at 4:30 p.m. at the USI Tennis Courts.
