EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Women's Tennis juniors
Antonia Ferrarini,
Claire Meyer, and
Enna Krnjic were named to the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
To earn this selection, all three athletes met the requirements of at least sophomore standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and competing in 70% of the season's matches.
Ferrarini, a marketing major, earns her second consecutive Academic All-District award, following her All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team honors at the end of the season. The junior tied for the team's most singles wins, with a 6-6 overall record at the No. 1 singles slot. Ferrarini was named OVC Singles Player of the Week on March 17.
Meyer, an Environmental Science major, earns her first Academic All-District award this season. She is a two-time OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree and won the Medal of Honor for her academic excellence her sophomore season. As a junior this season, Meyer took the court in all 17 matches for the Eagles.
Krnjic, a finance major, is a first-time winner of the Academic All-District award this season. The transfer took the court in all 17 matches for the Eagles in her first season at USI, recording a 2-11 overall record, tallying a 3-8 record in doubles matches.
