EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team blanked Kentucky Wesleyan College, 9-0, Tuesday at the USI Tennis Courts to improve to 2-1 overall, 2-1 GLVC.
USI started the action by sweeping doubles, dropping just two games in number one doubles. The Screaming Eagles also swept singles action, winning each match in straight sets for the second consecutive outing.
Freshman Reilly Ackerman (Allendale, Illinois) stepped up to play number two singles and faired well, topping KWC's Sara Sutherlin 6-1, 6-1. Ackerman's win improves her to 3-0 in singles play this season.
For the season, the Eagles are now 14-4 overall in singles play and 8-1 in doubles action.
USI will Northern Kentucky University and Bellarmine University Saturday at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
