The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team improved to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the GLVC with an 8-1 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis Friday evening at the USI Tennis Courts in Evansville, Indiana. The Screaming Eagles swept doubles play, winning the matches 8-3, 8-3, and 8-4, before winning five of the six singles matches.
Senior Nichole Freyberger (Jasper, Indiana) highlighted the singles matches with her 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) come-from behind victory at three singles. Freyberger fought off a 0-2 deficit during the tie-breaker to come away with her second victory of the season.
USI will return to action Saturday morning to take on Quincy University at 9 a.m. The Eagles will wrap up Saturday's action with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville at 3 p.m. Both matches are schedule to take place at the USI Tennis Courts.
