Lane Pollock and junior
Nathan Deputy will compete in the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Monday and Tuesday.
The NCAA Zone Championships take place over three days, with Deputy competing in the three-meter diving event on Monday, beginning at 1 p.m. Pollock will compete in the one-meter diving event on Tuesday, also starting at 1 p.m.
55 divers are competing in the preliminary rounds of both the one and three meter dives, with the top 18 moving onto the finals. The finals of each event will commence at 4 p.m. on the same day as the preliminary round. To qualify for the NCAA Championships, divers will need to finish in the top eight in the one-meter or top 10 in the three-meter.
This season, Deputy amazed in the three-meter, shattering the school record with a 333.05 score in the versus meet against the University of Evansville, clinching his NCAA Zone spot. Last time out, the junior competed in the Summit League Championships, where he earned a spot in the three-meter diving finals, following a preliminary score of 281.45. Deputy finished seventh in the event after a 277.65 finals performance.
Pollock dominated the one-meter event for the Screaming Eagles. The senior clinched an NCAA Zone spot with a school record-shattering 309.83 showing in the versus meet against Evansville. In the Summit League Championships, Pollock finished fourth in the one-meter event, scoring 264.55 in the preliminary round and 304.70 in the finals.
