CHICAGO, Ill.- University of Southern Indiana Diving competed in the University of Illinois Chicago Diving Invitational Saturday afternoon in Chicago, Illinois.
The Screaming Eagles competed in the one and three-meter dives on both the men's and women's sides. Five schools competed against USI at the event, including Illinois State University, Indiana State University, St. Louis University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and UIC.
Men's
The Men's side opened with the three-meter event, where Senior
Lane Pollock led USI with a 278.50 to earn fifth place that afternoon. Junior
Nathan Deputy and sophomore
Stokes Knight also competed in the event that day, with Deputy scoring 237.30 and Knight with 184.60.
In the three-meter, Pollock finished a team-best third-place after a 288.60 score. Deputy grabbed a sixth-place finish, scoring 264.65, with Stokes rounding out the team with a 175.60 performance.
Women's
The women opened the event with the one-meter. Junior
Maranda Uttke topped the scoreboard for the Eagles following a personal best 238.50 score. Sophomore
Anna Bunnell finished right behind Uttke with a 234.45 score and a seventh-place finish.
Rounding out the first event, sophomore
Gabbie Meier notched a 206.10, freshman
Lucia Tenny grabbed a 198.30, and senior
Autumn Turley scored 154.55.
Bunnell opened the three-meter with a team-best 254.85 score, nabbing a third-place finish. Uttke grabbed a top six finish following an impressive 232.55 performance. The Eagles finished the event with Tenny scoring 214.15, Meier with 210.90, and Turley with 177.70.
