IOWA CITY, Iowa- University of Southern Indiana Men's Swimming and Diving finished sixth out of seven teams with 275 points, in The Summit League Championships after four days of competition in Iowa City, Iowa.

Day One
The Screaming Eagles finished the first say of the meet securely in fourth place with 72 points, 26 points behind University of South Dakota in third place.
The biggest finish of the day came from senior
Lane Pollock in the one-meter event. He scored 304.70 to finish in fourth place and added 15 points to the team score.
The 200-medley relay team added points to the team score with a seventh-place finish and a new school record. Freshmen
Jarrett Watkins and
Jerrin Dale, and sophomores
Jude Winnington and
Stokes Knight made a time of 1:30.03.
The relay teams continued with top seven finishes in the 800 free relay competition. Juniors
Joey Smith and
Sam Smith, along with freshman Watkins, and senior
Jack Hannon, finished sixth with a time of 6:50.94.
Day Two
USI finished the second day in sixth place with 112 points, just 11 points behind South Dakota State University in fifth place. The highest finish of the day came from the team dive event, where Pollock,
George Blake, and
Nathan Deputy came in third place with a total score of 301.90.
The Eagles broke two school records in the second day of competition. In the 50 free race, Knight finished ninth with a 20.23 time to move into first place in the record book. In the 200 free relay, breaking their own record previously set earlier in the season at the House of Champions meet, J. Smith, S. Smith, Knight, and
Jude Winnington (1:21.96).
Day Three
The Screaming Eagles maintained their sixth-place position after the third day of competition, with several top 10 finishes, and two more school records broken.
In the 100-butterfly race,
Sam Smith grabbed a 10
th place finish and broke his own record with a time of 48.59. Freshman Dale marked his second school record of the week with a seventh-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, breaking his own record from earlier in the season at the House of Champions meet with a new time of 55.12.
Pollock and Deputy continued to excel in the diving events, both earning top 10 finishes on day three in the three-meter competition. Pollock earned 299.50 to move into fifth place, while Deputy scored a 281.45 for a seventh-place finish.
To round out the day, the 400 medley relay team earned a sixth-place finish, Watkins, Dale,
Sam Smith, and
Joey Smith swam 3:19.08.
Day Four
In the final day of competition, the Screaming Eagles remained in sixth place to finish out the meet.
Sam Smith took the only championship win, coming first in the 200-butterfly race with a school record time of 1:47.77.
Smith continued to shine in the 400 free relay, along with
Joey Smith, Hannon, and
Connor Harden. The team came sixth with a school record time of 3:02.94.
Junior
Camden Richardson added his name to the record book with a 15
th place finish in the 200 backstroke event, with a school-high 1:52.46.
This year's competition marks the most points earned by a Screaming Eagles team in school history with 275 total team points. Smith's win in the 200 butterfly records the first USI swimmer to win a conference championship in school history.
What's Next
The Screaming Eagles finish the season with a 3-4 record, marking wins against crosstown rival University of Evansville, and University of Illinois Chicago. This year's team also tabbed an eight place finish at the House of Champions competition in Indianapolis in November.
Next up for the Eagles is the NCAA Zones Diving Competition, where Deputy and Pollock will compete on March 9
