EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Women's Golf was predicted to finish fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll in a vote submitted by the league's head coaches.

Morehead State University returns to the top of the order, receiving seven first-place votes and 64 total points after winning the 2025 OVC Championship. The University of Arkansas Little Rock falls to the second slot with two first-place votes and 57 points.

Tennessee Tech University was slotted third with 48 points, and Lindenwood University rounded out the top four, receiving 43 points. USI is slotted in fifth with 35 points, eight ahead of Bryant University with 27. Eastern Illinois University, Tennessee State University, and Western Illinois University round out the standings with 26, 13, and 12 points, respectively.

The release also included a player to watch from each OVC squad. The Eagles player was sophomore
Fernanda Vera, who is coming off an impressive fall season in which she averaged 78.40 strokes per round. A 17th-place finish highlighted Vera's fall season, where she shot a 74 in the first round and 84 in the second.

USI resumes play on March 13 at the Northern Kentucky University Spring Invitational, hosted in Vero Beach, Florida. The tournament will feature 10 opposing schools, including OVC foe Eastern Illinois. The Eagles return to Evansville for a versus match against the University of Evansville on March 20 at Fendrich Golf Course.
