VERO BEACH, FL.- University of Southern Indiana Women's Golf finished the Northern Kentucky Spring Invitational Sunday afternoon in Vero Beach. Florida. The Screaming Eagles finished their first competition of the spring season ninth out of 11 teams.

Round 1
USI opened the competition with an impressive 316 (+28) team score, placing them third after the first 18 holes. Graduate Student
Valeria Lopez de Haro Juste led the way, with a team tournament best of 76 (+4) strokes, slotting her into a tie for fifth overall. Sophomore
Fernanda Vera carried over her great fall performance, shooting a 78 (+6).

The Eagles dazzled down the leaderboard. Sophomore
Brianna Kirsch shot an 80 (+8), junior
Tora Timinsky scored an 82 (+10), and freshman
McKenna Lowe rounded out the team with an 84 (+12).

Round 2
The Eagles shot a 331 (+43) as a team, moving them to sixth place. Vera led the team with a second-round score of 80 (+8), with Lopez de Haro Juste right behind with an 82 (+10). Kirsch shot an 85 (+12), and Lowe shot an 85 (+13) in the second round.

Round 3
Southern Indiana wrapped up the tournament with a 328 (+40) final round. Vera and Kirsch both shot a 79 (+7) for the round, tying for the top spot on the team leaderboard. Lowe and Timinsky each scored an 85 (+13) in the third round.

Overall, Vera finished the competition in 19th place, shooting a total of 237 (+21). Kirsch ended in 32nd place, shooting 243 (+27) over the three-round event.

Up Next:
The Eagles will return to the course on March 20 for a match against Evansville at Fendrich Golf Course in Evansville, Indiana. The two programs faced off in the fall at Western Hills Country Club, with the USI winning 4.5-2.5.
