EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Swimming and Diving defeated crosstown rival University of Evansville in a meet at Deaconess Aquatic Center, 172-126.
In the men's first win of the year, two school records were broken, and the Eagles grabbed first-place wins in ten different events.
The first broken record was secured by freshman
Jerrin Dale in the 100 breast event with a time of 56.50, breaking the previous record by 39 milliseconds. The freshman also came in first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:06.97.
Sophomore
Stokes Knight broke the 50 free school record in the opening leg of the 200 free relay race, completing a time of 20.59. The relay team tallied the win after Knight with a time of 1:24.06. Knight also secured the first-place spot in the 50 free event.
Bringing home the most first-place victories was junior
Sam Smith, coming in first in the 1000 free (10:03.07) and in the 200 fly (1:52.14). For the last individual win of the meet, sophomore
Jude Winnington took first place in the 200 IM (1:54.20).
The Screaming Eagles divers completed a clean sweep of the first three places in both the one-meter event and the three-meter event. Senior
Lane Pollock came in first place in the one-meter competition with 254.70 points, while junior
Nathan Deputy grabbed first in the three-meter with 285.90 points.
