EVANVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Swimming and Diving takes on the University of Evansville Saturday afternoon at the Deaconess Aquatic Center. The Women's team will also match up with Indiana State University at the event.
Both teams faced Evansville last weekend at the quad-meet hosted by Indiana University Indianapolis. The women came out on top with a massive 181-105 victory, while the men experienced a narrow 153-144 loss to the Aces.
Men
Last time out, the Screaming Eagles went 0-3 against IU Indy, Evansville, and Valparaiso University at the meet hosted by IU Indy at the IU Natatorium last Saturday.
The men's team's highest finish came from sophomore
Stokes Knight, who swam a 20.77, topping the podium in the 50 freestyle. Knight also saw a top 10 finish in the one-meter dive event with a score of 190.10.
Senior
Lane Pollock recorded two fourth-place finishes, one in the one-meter dive (265.7) and another in the three-meter dive (270.05). Junior
Nathan Deputy dazzled in the three-meter dive with an impressive 283.00 score.
Women
Last Saturday, the women earned an impressive victory over Evansville but fell 203-96 to IU Indy and dropped a close 153-140 matchup with Valparaiso.
Freshman
Hannah Pryor tied the USI record in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:08.10. Pryor also had a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke after a 58.95 run. Sophomore
Emma Gabhart recorded second-place finishes in the 100 backstroke (1:07.25), the 200 backstroke (2:27.09), and the 400 individual medley (4:38.45).
The divers impressed at the meet, sophomore
Gabbie Meier nabbed two top-five finishes, placing fourth in the three-meter (233.40) and fifth in the one-meter (215.20). Sophomore
Anna Bunnell finished second in both the one and three-meter dives, recording a 247.10 in the one-meter and a 2:47.65 in the three.
