INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Swimming and Diving falls to Indiana University Indianapolis, the University of Evansville, and Valparaiso University Saturday afternoon at the IU Natatorium.
The Screaming Eagles came the closest, 153-144, to a win against UE. IU Indy gained the greatest margin of victory of the day against the Eagles, 234-65, and USI fell to Valpo 165-128.
In the Eagles' only first-place win of the meet, sophomore
Stokes Knight swam a 20.77 in the 50 freestyle. Knight also saw a top 10 finish in the one-meter dive event with a score of 190.10.
Senior
Lane Pollock scored 265.7 to tie for fourth place in the one-meter dive competition. He also came in fourth place in the three-meter dive contest with a score of 270.05. Above him in the three-meter event was junior
Nathan Deputy, with a score of 283.00.
Junior
Sam Smith finished fourth in the 1000 free contest (9:59.25), and he also saw a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly (1:54.24).
Freshman
Garrett Gabhart finished fourth in the 100 butterfly (51.59), improving on his time from the Indiana Intercollegiate by nearly a full second.
The Eagles are back in action on October 25, when they face off against Indiana State University and get a rematch against Evansville at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Indiana.
