EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team remained unbeaten on the season, sweeping Indiana University Southeast 9-0 Friday afternoon at the Evansville Tennis Center.
In doubles, the Screaming Eagles' (3-0) top duo of junior
Kelsey Shipman (Olney, Illinois) and senior
Kymberly Brannon (Louisville, Kentucky) picked up an 8-1 win. Also picking up an 8-1 win in doubles were junior
Jennifer Mizikar (Batavia, Illinois) and freshman
Alex Jamison (Floyds Knobs, Indiana). The number two doubles team of freshman
Lauren Hambrock (Terre Haute, Indiana) and senior
Brenna Wu (Evansville, Indiana) won their match by a score of 8-0.
USI kept up the strong play during singles competition as well as the Eagles won all six matches in straight sets. Jamison won at number six singles 6-0, 6-0, and Shipman won at number two singles 6-0, 6-1.
The Eagles return to action February 11 when they host Lindenwood University at 5 p.m. at the Evansville Tennis Center.
