EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team suffered its third straight loss Saturday when they were defeated by 48
th-ranked University of Charleston 6-3 at the Evansville Tennis Center.
After falling behind 2-0 in doubles, USI got on the board with a 9-7 win at number one from junior
Kelsey Shipman (Olney, Illinois) and senior
Brenna Wu (Evansville, Indiana).
The Screaming Eagles remained within striking distance down just 3-2 after freshman
Alex Jamison (Floyds Knobs, Indiana) picked up the 6-4, 0-6, 12-10 win at number five singles. Junior
Haley Jones (Ft. Branch, Indiana) would score the Eagles' final point with a 6-0, 6-1 win at number six singles.
USI is back in action on March 7 when they face Eastern Florida State College in an exhibition match in Cocoa, Florida. On March 8 the Eagles play Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida.
