OWENSBORO, Ky. – The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team opened the season with a 9-0 sweep against Kentucky Wesleyan College Monday evening at Moreland Park in Owensboro, Kentucky.
The Screaming Eagles won in straight sets in six of the nine matches and only lost one set in each of the remaining three matches.
Freshman
Lauren Hambrock (Terra Haute, Indiana) and junior
Kelsey Shipman (Olney, Illinois) swept their doubles match 8-0, as well as each winning individually 6-0, 6-0. Senior
Brenna Wu (Evansville, Indiana) also swept both her matches, winning 6-0, 6-0 in singles and 8-0 with senior
Kymberly Brannon (Louisville, Kentucky) in doubles.
USI is back in action on Friday when they host Hanover College at the USI Tennis Courts. Play begins at 3:30 p.m.
