EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team looks to build on its strong start to the season when it opens a two game GLVC homestand weekend. To open the weekend, the Screaming Eagles host Missouri University of Science and Technology on Friday at 7:30 pm. USI wraps up the three-game homestand with a Sunday afternoon battle with Drury University at 2:30 pm at Strassweg Field.
The Eagles opened GLVC play with a split. USI powered past the University of Illinois Springfield 3-0 before dropping a 1-0 double overtime heartbreaker to McKendree University on Sunday.
USI takes on the Missouri S&T Miners on Friday at Strassweg Field. The Miners opened GLVC play last weekend much like the Eagles with a 1-0 loss to Rockhurst University and a 3-1 win over William Jewell College.
Following the Friday showdown with Missouri S&T, the Eagles face off against the Panthers of Drury on Sunday. The Panthers opened conference action with a 2-0 victory over William Jewell and a 1-0 loss to Rockhurst.

Week 3 Notes: USI opens season 3-1: The Eagles started the campaign with a 3-0 mark for the first time since 1986 before dropping a 1-0 contest to McKendree.
Freshmen power offense: Freshman forwards
Erick Hasselkus (Evansville, Indiana) and
Kasper Bjoro (Oslo, Norway) have combined to score five of the ten Eagles' goals this season. Bjoro has tallied three with two game-winners, while Hasselkus has score two with a game-winner of his own.
Zehme solid in goal: Sophomore goalkeeper
Adam Zehme (Orland Park, Illinois) sits 3-1 on the season in goal. Zehme recorded 353 minutes of shutout goalkeeping between the posts to start the season before McKendree's golden goal on Sunday.

Mat Santoro has a 46-53-9 overall record at USI.
