EVANSVILLE, Ind. - University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer will travel across town to the University of Evansville on Tuesday for the fifth annual Mayor's Cup at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Saturday's Recap:
 
USI (0-3-2) is coming off a 3-2 loss to Marquette University on Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Screaming Eagles led for the majority of the match but fell in the final minutes.
 
Freshman midfielder Christian Rotundo and senior midfielder Garrett Morris each scored their first goals of the season. The goals were the first of their USI Men's Soccer careers. Morris also paced the squad with three shots on Saturday. Sophomore midfielder Nolan Stevens notched his first assist of the season on Rotundo's first-half goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Jacob English hauled in six saves for the fourth time this season, bringing his season total to 28. English's 28 saves rank second in the Ohio Valley Conference.
 
The road trip to the University of Evansville (1-4-1) is the second match of a four-game road stretch. After the match against UE, the Screaming Eagles will travel to Belmont University (Sept. 18) and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (Sept. 26) before heading home to face Eastern Illinois University (Oct. 1).
 
Mayor's Cup History:
 
The Mayor's Cup began in 2022, after USI transitioned into an NCAA Division I program. In the inaugural matchup, USI managed its only result of the series, a 0-0 tie. Last year's Mayor's Cup was a 3-0 home loss for the Screaming Eagles. They were outshot 24 to five in the match.
 
Evansville leads the all-time series 3-0-1 with wins in each of the past three seasons. The Purple Aces have scored at least three goals in the Mayor's Cup, except for the 0-0 tie in the inaugural season in 2022.

Scouting the University of Evansville:
 
The Aces faced Lindenwood University on Friday and managed a 3-0 win for their first win of the season, scoring in the 10^th, 20^th, and 63^rd minutes. UE outshot Lindenwood 16 to five and had two saves.
 
Evansville has faced four teams inside the top 25 RPI (Rating Percentage Index) rankings (Indiana University #14, University of Louisville #22, and Northwestern University #24) this season. The Aces have also faced the 16th-strongest schedule thus far in Division I this season.  
 
UE's two leading goal scorers are junior wing Alejandro "Casca" Fernandez and senior midfielder Pablo Calvete, both with two goals. The Aces' net is protected by graduate student goalkeeper Hugo Amo, who has amassed 19 saves in six games while allowing 10 goals.
