Eagles fall in GLVC Tourney first round

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team bowed out of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament in the first round after being shut out by 20th-ranked Drury University, 5-0, Friday morning in Kansas City, Missouri. USI, which was the fourth-seed from the East Division, saw its five-match winning streak stopped at five and finished the year 14-8 overall.
 
The Screaming Eagles were thrown off track in doubles action as the Panther swept the three matches. Drury captured 24 of the 28 points in the double matches. The shutout was completed in singles play when sophomore Kymberly Brannon lost at number four (6-0, 6-0) and freshman Kelsey Shipman was defeated at number five (6-1, 6-0).
