EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Five different players secured multiple wins Wednesday as the University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team blanked Midwest Region foe Kentucky Wesleyan College, 9-0, at the USI Tennis Courts.
The Screaming Eagles (10-7) dominated doubles play, losing just one game, as it went into singles action with a 3-0 lead. USI swept all six singles matches in straight sets, dropping just three games throughout the competition.
Freshmen
Ashlee Hasson (Columbus, Indiana),
Kelsey Shipman (Olney, Illinois), and
Jennifer Mizikar (Batavia, Illinois) each recorded two wins on the day. Junior
Kaitlin Mooney (New Albany, Indiana) and sophomore
Miranda Camp (Terre Haute, Indiana), who teamed up for an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles, also posted a pair of wins.
USI returns to Great Lakes Valley Conference play Friday at 2 p.m. when it travels to Rensselaer, Indiana, to take on Saint Joseph's College in a men's and women's doubleheader.
