EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference setback to the University of Indianapolis Friday at the Evansville Tennis Center.
UIndy (6-4, 2-0 GLVC) opened the match with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles before earning 8-3 and 8-4 triumphs at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively. The Greyhounds went on to earn straight-set wins in each of the six singles matches to complete the sweep.
Sophomore
Kymberly Brannon (Louisville, Kentucky), who moved up a spot in the lineup to No. 3 singles following doubles competition, had USI's most competitive match of the day, falling 6-4 and 6-2 to UIndy's Selanay Heper.
USI (9-6, 0-2 GLVC) returns to action Saturday at 10 a.m. when it hosts Lewis University at the Evansville Tennis Center.
