Eagles stumble against UMSL

EVANSVILLE, Ind.---The University of Southern Indiana Women's Tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to the University of Missouri-St. Louis Monday afternoon in a non-conference match at the USI Tennis Courts.

USI (9-5, 0-1 GLVC) opened competition by salvaging a victory in doubles play. The Screaming Eagles grabbed an 8-2 triumph at number one doubles by sophomore Brenna Wu and freshman Ashlee Hasson.

In singles play, Hasson once again led the Eagles, earning a 6-3, 6-3 win at number one singles. The final USI victory came at number six singles, as freshman Jennifer Mizikar took a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) decision.

The Eagles return to action with a pair of GLVC matches beginning Friday at 2 p.m. when they host the University of Indianapolis and concluding Saturday at 10 a.m. against Lewis University. Both matches will take place at the USI Tennis Courts.
