COCOA BEACH, Fla. – The University of Southern Indiana Women's Tennis team swept Bentley University Thursday at the Racket Club of Cocoa Beach in Cocoa Beach, Florida. USI rises to 8-3 overall, while Bentley falls to 7-9.
The Screaming Eagles swept through the doubles matches with sophomore
Brenna Wu and freshman
Kelsey Shipman earning a dominating 8-0 sweep at number two. Junior
Elizabeth Wilm and freshman
Ashlee Hasson paired up to take an 8-4 victory at number one, while sophomore
Kymberly Brannon and freshman
Jennifer Mizikar scored an 8-3 triumph at number three.
In singles action, Shipman swept all 12 games in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep crushing at number five, while Wu nearly matched Shipman's feat, relinquishing just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number two. Mizikar secured the shutout with a 6-2, 4-6, 11-9 marathon win at number six singles.
The Eagles conclude their spring break trip with a Friday matchup with Merrimack College at 10 am at the Racket Club of Cocoa Beach in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
