USI is 4-0 for the first time since 2003-04
OWENSBORO, Ky. – The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team finished the fall portion of the 2014-15 season with a 4-0 mark after defeating Brescia University, 8-1, Wednesday evening. The Screaming Eagles are 4-0 for the first time since 2003-04.
The Screaming Eagles swept through the doubles play to lead, 3-0. Junior
Elizabeth Wilm (Evansville, Indiana) and freshman
Ashlee Hasson (Columbus, Illinois) put USI on the scoreboard with a 9-7 win at number one doubles, while sophomore
Brenna Wu (Evansville, Indiana) and freshman
Kelsey Shipman (Olney, Illinois) clinched the second match, 8-0, at number two doubles. Junior
Elizabeth Skinner (Paducah, Kentucky) and freshman
Jennifer Mizikar (Batavia, Illinois) completed the sweep with an 8-0 win at three doubles.
USI wrapped the up the match by winning five of the six singles matches. Wilm, Wu, Skinner, Shipman, and sophomore
Kymberly Brannon (Louisville, Kentucky) posted straight-set victories in singles to clinch the dual match victory.
