Eagles hope to keep momentum in homestand

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – An overtime time victory has the University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team riding high as it begins a two-match homestand Friday at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts Missouri University of Science & Technology at Strassweg Field. The short two-game set concludes Sunday when the Screaming Eagles welcome Drury University to USI for a 2:30 p.m. contest.

USI (2-1-1, 1-1-0 GLVC) finished a 1-1-0 opening weekend in the GLVC with the exciting 3-2 overtime win at McKendree University. The Eagles had to come from behind in the victory, scoring twice in the last 10 minutes of the match before getting the "golden goal" in overtime.

Eagles vs. Missouri S&T: USI trails the all-time series with Missouri S&T, 9-12-2, and remained the same after last year's match was cancelled due to weather. Prior to last season, the Miners had won the last four matches.

Missouri S&T in the GLVC. The Miners (2-2-0, 1-1-0 GLVC) have split their first four games of the year and their first weekend in the GLVC. Missouri S&T opened the GLVC campaign with a 2-0 loss at Rockhurst University, but bounced back to defeat William Jewell College, 2-1, in overtime.

Eagles vs. Drury. USI has had a rough time with Drury and trails the all-time series, 1-8-1. The Panthers took last year's match, 2-1, in Springfield, Missouri. The Eagles posted their only win over the Panthers in 2010 when they defeated Drury, 1-0, at Strassweg Field.
