EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team was thwarted by the University of Indianapolis, 2-0, Friday evening at the Strassweg Field. USI sees its record drop to 2-6-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while UIndy rises 5-2-2 overall and 4-1-2 conference.
The Screaming Eagles and Greyhounds traded offensive opportunities during the first half, but neither team could get onto the scoreboard. USI has more offensive chances during the first 45 minutes, leading 6-4 in shots and 2-1 in corner kicks.
In the second half, the USI defense faltered as the Greyhounds scored the eventual game-winning goal 4:04 into final half. UIndy sealed the victory with another tally at 64:51 for the 2-0 win.
The Eagles' offense tried to get on track with eight minutes remaining, but saw point blank opportunities missed by junior midfielder

Overall, USI outshot UIndy, 15-11, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 6-5.
The Eagles conclude the two-match homestand Sunday at 2:30 p.m. when they host Saint Joseph's College. Saint Joseph's saw its record go to 2-6-1 overall and 1-6-0 GLVC after falling at the University of Illinois Springfield, 3-1, this evening.
