EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team had to rally to defeat Kentucky Wesleyan College in a rain-shortened match, 5-4, Thursday afternoon in Owensboro, Kentucky. The USI earns its first victory of the year and is 1-0, while KWC falls to 2-1.
The Panthers took an early lead by winning two of the three doubles matches. USI junior

Morgan Coquerille put the Screaming Eagles on the scoreboard with an 8-0 win at number two doubles.
In singles action, the Eagles rallied to win four of the six matches. Junior
Lindsey White, Coquerille, and Stumpf put USI in the lead with wins at number one, two, and three singles, repectively. White and Stumpf won their matches, 8-3, while Coquerille posted an 8-2 victory.
The Eagles dropped matches at number four and five singles before USI clinched the match at number six singles. Sophomore Alysaa Hoover won the deciding match, 8-5.
USI will plays an exhibition match with Bellarmine University October 1 at the USI Tennis Courts before resume individual tournament action in the Georgetown College Invitational October 7-8. The Eagles finish the fall portion of the schedule with dual match October 9 at the University of Charleston.
