EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team dropped game one of a two-game homestand, 3-1, to Lewis University Friday night at Stassweg field. USI falls to 3-3-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the GLVC, while Lewis rises to 2-3-0, 2-2-0 GLVC.

Michael Simcock combined to give USI a 1-0 lead. Rawnsley recorded his third goal of the season on a pass into the box by Simcock at 6:56.
The Flyers responded with a pair of first half goals, scoring at 9:30 to knot the match up and at 20:28 to take the lead. Lewis would take the 2-1 lead into the locker room at halftime.
After the intermission, Lewis increased its lead to 3-1 at 67:05. USI was the more dangerous team in the second half, out shooting Lewis, 5-2, but was unable to find the back of the net.
USI outshot Lewis, 11-8, for the match, while the teams were tied, 4-4, in corner kicks.
The Eagles conclude the short two-game homestand Sunday when they host the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at noon. The Rangers improved to 4-1-1, 2-1-1 GLVC, after defeating Kentucky Wesleyan College, 6-0, Friday afternoon.
