EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team lost a 6-3 decision to the University of Indianapolis Saturday morning at the USI Tennis Courts. USI falls to 6-10 overall and 0-5 in the GLVC, while UIndy goes to 10-3 overall, 2-2 in the GLVC.

The Greyhounds took an early lead by taking two of the three doubles matches. The Screaming Eagles salvaged a doubles victory when freshmen Lindsey White and Logan Ackerman won at number two doubles, 8-5.

UIndy clinched the victory by winning four of the six singles matches. USI junior Michelle Girgenti and White recorded the singles points for the Eagles, winning in straight sets at number one and four singles, respectively.

USI concludes GLVC action in 2009-10 next Saturday when the Eagles host Kentucky Wesleyan College for a 10 a.m. match. The Eagles finish the regular season campaign on April 21 when the University of Evansville comes to the USI Tennis Courts for a 5 p.m. contest.
