BOX SCORE: USI 8, Bellarmine 1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team opened GLVC action in 2009-10 with an 8-1 victory at Bellarmine University Saturday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky. USI raised its records to 13-3 overall and 1-0 in the GLVC, while Bellarmine falls to 4-3, 1-1 GLVC.

The Screaming Eagles got on track early by taking two of the three doubles matches. Junior Joseph Boesing and sophomore Diego Gimenez put the Eagles on the scoreboard with an 8-4 win at number one doubles, while freshmen Ben Boesing and Juan Quiroz put USI up 2-0 with an 8-5 win at number two doubles.

The Eagles clinched the match by sweeping the six singles matches, all in straight sets.

USI resumes GLVC action on the road next weekend when the Eagles travel to Northern Kentucky University on April 2 and to Saint Joseph's College on April 3.
