USI women's tennis suffers 7-2 loss at UIndy

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 defeat at the hands of the University of Indianapolis Saturday morning in Indianapolis, Indiana. USI falls to 4-12 overall and 4-5 in the GLVC, while UIndy goes to 9-9, 4-4 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles avoided the shutout with senior Reilly Ackerman (Mt. Carmel, Illinois) and sophomore Michelle Girgenti (Greenwood, Indiana) posting straight set victories at number one and two singles.Â
The next match for USI will be the regular season finale when the Eagles host Missouri University of Science & Technology. Match time at the USI Tennis Courts is 10 a.m.
