EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team fell to No. 31 Drury University, 9-0, Thursday evening at the USI Tennis Courts.
Sophomore Jennie LaBonte (Indianapolis, Indiana) and senior Emily Schum (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) lost a closely-contested match at number three doubles. The Panthers duo of Lindsey Castrodale and Anna Lustig needed a 7-5 tiebreaker to top LaBonte and Petty, 9-8, and complete the 3-0 sweep in doubles play.
Following doubles action, the Panthers (8-3, 3-0 GLVC) recorded straight-set victories in all six singles matches to complete the victory.
The Screaming Eagles (1-9, 1-2 GLVC) return to action Friday when they host Saint Joseph's College in a men's and women's GLVC doubleheader. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m. at the USI Tennis Courts.
