EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Women's Tennis lost to Butler University Sunday afternoon, 5-2, in the first match of the season on the USI Tennis Courts.
Doubles
The Bulldogs took possession of the doubles point with wins on the one and two slots. First to drop their match was the juniors,
Antonia Ferrarini and
Sofia Davidoff, on court one (6-1).
Rylie Wilkison and
Anais Negrail paired up for the first time this season on court two and put up a fight before losing 6-3.
Singles
Butler claimed victory on four out of six singles matches, clinching the game victory on the No. 3 singles match over Davidoff. The Screaming Eagles added points from wins on the No. 4 and 5 courts. First Eagle to win was sophomore Wilkison on court four, gaining her first win in the four slot of the season. Last to finish was Negrail on court five, earning her win in a tough tiebreaker set (6-3, 3-6, 10-8).
