Eagles get into the win column this weekend

ST. LOUIS, Mo. The University of Southern Indiana's women's tennis team picked the perfect time to start their winning streak this past weekend. The team picked up their first two wins of the season on the road against conference opponents Quincy University, 5-4, and the University of Missouri St. Louis, 8-1.
USI's sophomore Gretchen Cantwell (Vincennes, Indiana) and freshman Jennie LaBonte(Brownsburg, Indiana) combined for six victories, four in singles and two in doubles, to lead the Screaming Eagles.Â
The Eagles also were flawless in singles play for the first time this year, sweeping all six singles matches against UMSL on Saturday.
USI (2-10) is now 2-4 in the GLVC Conference with five league opponents still left to play. The Screaming Eagles will take on Lewis University (0-8) and Saint Joseph's College (8-7)next weekend.
