USI shuts out KWC to get into GLVC Tournament

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team won their last two matches of the regular season to clinch the sixth seed in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.
USI (5-12, 5-6 GLVC) closed out the regular season campaingn by defeating Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday afternoon, 9-0. Leading the Screaming Eagles once again at number one singles and doubles was junior Reily Ackerman (Mt.
Carmel, Illinois), who defeated KWC's Mackensie Clausman in three sets.Â
Sophomore Katie Jo Clagg (Terra Haute, Indiana) had a strong finish to the season, winning her last seven singles matches.Â
The women's sixth seed pairs them up against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (13-7, 9-2 GLVC) in the first round of the conference
tournament. The tournament is April 25-26 and is hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
