EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team lost a non-conference match to Northern Kentucky University, 6-3, Monday at the USI Tennis Courts.
USI (5-13) found itself in a 3-3 tie with the Norse after posting victories in number one and two singles and a win at number two doubles. NKU (6-8), however, closed the match out with wins at number three, four, and six singles.
Junior
Andrew McGuire (Greenwood, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with a pair of victories. McGuire teamed with fellow classmate
Ryan McDaniel(Bargersville, Indiana) to post an 8-5 win at number two doubles before recording a straight-sets victory over NKU's Reed Sparks at number two singles.
Junior
Christoph Burger (Wasserburg, Germany) also posted a straight-sets victory over NKU's Felipe Rossetti at number one singles.
The Eagles return to action Thursday when they travel to Oakland City University to take on the Mighty Oaks in a 4 p.m. (CDT) match.
