EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team was 2-0 in its first weekend of GLVC play by defeating the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 5-0, and Quincy University, 9-0, on the road Friday and Saturday. The Screaming Eagles raise their record to 6-5 and 2-0 in the GLVC.

The Eagles began conference play with the 5-0 shutout of the Riverwomen on Friday and were led by seniors
Kimberly Decker (Brownsburg, Indiana) and
Audra Bartelt (Jasper, Indiana) with a pair of victories each.
Decker started things off for the Eagles by combining with senior
Betsy Gentry(Anderson, Indiana) with an 8-3 win at number one doubles. She picked up her second win of the match with a straight set win at number one singles (6-0, 6-0).
Bartelt paired with freshman
Katie Jo Clagg (Terre Haute, Indiana) to produce an 8-0 win at number two doubles to pick up her first win of the day. She finished with two win after winning in straight sets at number two singles (7-5, 6-0).
USI finished its first weekend in GLVC play by with its third shutout of the spring, 9-0, over Quincy.
The USI doubles teams, once again, started the Eagles off with three straight wins. The Eagles then cruised through the singles in straight sets in all of except at number six, which needed a tie-breaker.
The Eagles return to action at the USI Tennis Courts Monday when they host Northern Kentucky University for a 2:30 p.m. non-conference match.
